The fast development of laser technology is opening up the possibility of investigations on laser-driven relativistic quantum dynamics. The most basic QED effect conventionally considered in ultraintense laser-matter interactions is the nonlinear Compton scattering. 
Recently we have investigated the transfer of orbital angular momentum from intense vortex laser beam to gamma-ray beams via nonlinear Compton scattering in radiation reaction dominated regime [1-2]. A well-collimated gamma-ray beams with a large orbital angular momentum is obtained,  as well as the correlation between the beam properties and QED effects. More recently we have explored the possibilities for creation of polarized electron, positron and gamma-photon beams employing ultrastrong laser fields [3-4]. To investigate the spin dynamics during intense laser-matter interaction, we have developed a spin-resolved Monte Carlo method  to model electron (positron) radiative spin effects and spin effects during pair production in arbitrary electromagnetic fields, using spin resolved radiation and pair production probabilties in local constant field approximation (LCFA), calculated with the Baier-Katkov operator method. The main reason for the polarization is shown to be the spin-asymmetry of the photon emission and pair production processes in strong external fields, combined with the asymmetry of the laser field. Employing a feasible scenario, we show that highly polarized positron beams, with a polarization degree of   60%, can be produced in a femtosecond time scale, with a small angular divergence, ~ 74 mrad, and high density ~ 10^{14} cm^{?3}. The laser-driven polarized positron source rises hopes to provide an alternative for high energy physics studies.
